Prom Explaining: Rollup Sequencers We're diving deeper into L2 architecture. Today, we're exploring the role of sequencers and their primary functions. What are Rollup Sequencers? In non-technical words, a sequencer acts as a traffic controller of transactions within the rollup architecture, maintaining the correct flow from L2 to L1. The Role of Sequencers A sequencer's role involves retrieving transactions from a Layer 2 mempool and preparing them for submission to the Ethereum mainnet. This preparation includes verifying and ordering the transactions and then bundling them into a single batch. This batch is then submitted to Ethereum as a single transaction. Basically, sequencers are responsible for the whole "rolling up" mechanism, making them one of the system's most crucial elements.
